入職條件: 申請人須： 

(1) 持有由香港任何一所大學所頒發的學位，或具同等學歷，而當中最少三分之一的學分須來自以下其中一個科目：博物館學、化學、天文學、物理學、生物科學、數學、工程學╱科技、計算機科學、地質科學、植物學或動物學﹔及 

(2) 在綜合招聘考試兩張語文試卷(中文運用和英文運用)取得「二級」成績，或具同等學歷。

註: (i) 申請人須於申請書內夾附全部修業成績副本，以便審核有關科目所獲的學分。未填妥或沒有夾附上述佐證文件的申請，將不獲考慮。 

(ii) 中文運用和英文運用試卷的考生成績分為「二級」、「一級」或「不及格」，並以「二級」為最高等級。 

(iii) 香港高級程度會考英語運用科C級或以上成績，或同等成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」成績。香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科C級或以上成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的「二級」成績。 

(iv) 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的人士，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位開始接受申請的首天(即2013年8月2日)仍然有效。 

(v) 為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。申請人在基本法測試(學位/專業程度職系)的表現，會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因素，但不會影響其申請公務員職位的資格。原則上，申請人的學歷、經驗和才能仍然是考慮其是否適合被聘用的主要因素。)

職責: 二級助理館長（科學）的主要職責為﹕﹣ 

(a) 進行研究和編製博物館目錄及刊物﹔ 

(b) 搜羅、製作、登記和分析展品﹔以及 

(c) 協助舉辦展覽、天象節目及博物館的推廣活動。

聘用條款: 獲取錄的申請人會按公務員試用條款受聘，試用期為三年；通過試用關限後，當局會考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款聘用。

附註: (a) 除另有指明外，申請人於獲聘時必須已成為香港特別行政區永久性居民。

(i) 持有本港以外學府╱非香港考試及評核局頒授的學歷人士亦可申請，惟其學歷必須經過評審以確定是否與職位所要求的本地學歷水平相若。有關申請人須郵寄修業成績副本及證書副本到上述查詢地址。網上申請人請於信封面及文件副本每一頁註明網上申請編號。

Job Title: Assistant Curator II (Science)

Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 14 (HK$23,285 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 27 (HK$43,120 per month)

Entry Requirements: Candidates should - 

(a) have a degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, for which at least 33% of the credit units should be in one of the following subjects: Museology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Physics, Biological Science, Mathematics, Engineering / Technology, Computer Science, Geological Science, Botany or Zoology; and 

(b) possess ‘Level 2’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent.

Note: (i) Candidates should attach all copies of their official transcripts of studies together with their applications for assessment of relevant credits obtained. Applications, which are incomplete or without such supporting documents, will not be considered. 

(ii) Candidates’ results of the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers are classified as ‘Level 2’, ‘Level 1’ or ‘Fail’, with ‘Level 2’ being the highest. 

(iii) Grade ‘C’ or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), or equivalent, are accepted as equivalent to ‘Level 2’ result in the UE paper of the CRE. Grade ‘C’ or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE are accepted as equivalent to ‘Level 2’ result in the UC paper of the CRE. 

(iv) Applicants with an overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test are accepted as equivalent to ‘Level 2’ result in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test results must be valid on the starting day of the application period, i.e. 2 August 2013. 

(v) For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Results of the BL test for degree/professional grades will be one of the considerations to assess the suitability of a candidate but will not affect his/her eligibility for applying for civil service jobs. As a general principle, the main consideration for suitability for appointment remains a candidate’s qualification, experience and calibre.)

Duties: An Assistant Curator II (Science) is mainly deployed on:- 

(a) conduct of research projects and production of museum catalogues and publications; 

(b) acquisition, production, registration and interpretation of exhibits; and 

(c) assisting in the organisation of exhibitions, sky-shows and museum extension activities. 

(Notes: May be required to undergo training relevant to the duties of the Grade and work irregular hours.)

Terms of Appointment: A new appointee will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
