註: (A) 過往香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級及E級的成績,在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年及其後的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3等級和第2等級的成績。 
(B) 為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣,所有公務員職位的招聘,均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。應徵者會被安排參加基本法筆試。應徵者在基本法知識測試的表現,會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因素。 
(C) 受聘人或會調派於決策局或其他政府部門工作。
職責: 技術主任(建築設計)主要調派從事以下工作,並協助培訓初級人員─(a)為建築項目擬備各類建築圖則、時間表、模型及其他文件;(b)對提交的圖則是否符合法例規定加以初步審核;以及(c)協助統籌參與項目的其他界別(包括法定機構)的資料及工作。[請參閱註(C)]

Entry Requirements: Candidates should have – (a) obtained a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Notes (A) and (B)]
Note: (A) Grade C and Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 and Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. 
(B) For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates will be assessed on their BL knowledge through a written test. The BL test result will be one of the considerations to assess the suitability of a candidate. 
(C) Successful candidates may be posted to work in Government Bureaux or other Government Departments.
Duties: A Technical Officer (Architectural) is mainly deployed on the following types of works and assisting in the training of junior staff – (a) preparing various types of architectural drawing, schedules, models and other documents for building development; (b) carrying out preliminary statutory compliance checking of submission drawings; and (c) assisting in the co-ordination of information and works of other disciplines involved with the projects including statutory bodies. [See Note (C)]
Terms of Appointment: A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
